I usually add cold water to boiling water in different quantities depending on how hot I want the water to be.
- boiling water + splash of cold water leads to a temperature of about 90°C.
- ¾ of boiling water + ¼ of cold water leads to a temperature of about 80°C.
- ⅔ of boiling water + ⅓ of cold water leads to a temperature of about 70°C.
If you have the time, and patience, waiting for the water to cool down also works.
- approximately 2 min cooling leads to a temperature of about 90°C.
- approximately 4 min cooling leads to a temperature of about 80°C.
- approximately 6 min cooling leads to a temperature of about 70°C.
