My favourite green tea is matcha. I love Uji Hikari Japanese matcha, specially the one from 5th-generation master farmer Tsuji-san.

What is the best tea for someone who doesn't drink tea?

Yes, going for flavours you already enjoy good way to start. For anyone starting out with tea I would definitely recommend mild blends. Jasmin green is always a good bet and something like Keemun would be a good choice for black tea. I personally think peppermint is a tad bit too strong and if you are starting out on herbals try something like chamomile or lemongrass.

What most people tend to call tea, is not actually tea. Real tea is made from the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant, everything else is likely to be a tisane or as they are often referred to 'herbal teas'. Even though it is incorrect, I personally use the word tea for all 'teas' as most people dont know the differences between real tea and tisanes.

What is matcha green tea?

Matcha is a finely powdered green tea from Japan made by taking young Camellia sinensis leaves and grinding them into a bright green powder. The powder is then whisked with hot water. Packed with antioxidants, matcha became famous worldwide and it’s often used in Asian deserts and drinks. Matcha is a beautiful, vibrant beverage with a distinct flavour that is often consumed with milk of all types, like in the matcha latte.
