Tea with purpose.

What if we could change the world, one cuppa at a time?

A cuppa may seem like a small and seemingly inconsequential part of our daily routines. But, even the smallest things can have the biggest impact.

Tea is the second most widely consumed beverage worldwide, following only water. The global tea market in 2021 is valued at nearly 233 billion U.S. dollars, and is expected to rise to over 318 billion dollars by 2025. Just in 2021 the global consumption of tea is expected to amount to about 6.3 billion kilograms. That is a lot of tea.

At Oolo, we believe there is great opportunity to turn tea into a massive force for good. What if we could change the world, one cuppa at a time?

We exist to unlock the power of community ingenuity that will save our home planet.

Today we live our purpose by:

  • Putting our money where our heart is and re-investing 10% of sales in organisations that are fighting the good fight.

  • Doing no unnecessary harm. Our products are 100% biodegradable, recyclable and plastic free from leaf to packaging.

  • Being sustainable from field to cup. Today Oolo is 98% organic.

  • Supporting our community and giving our Creators a commission on their sales.

  • Building an inclusive and diverse community of ingenious humans from all over the world.

When it comes to tea, we like to keep it loose.

Quality is one of Oolo's core values and something we do not compromise on. Our loose leaf teas are handcrafted in Australia using premium organic ingredients full of freshness, aroma and flavour.

Oolo's unique and ingenious blends are the result of our collaboration with many of our creators, producers and merchants from all over the world.

It's simple: every single item used in our packaging is recyclable or compostable, sometimes both.

All of it? Yes, all of it.

  • Cylinders: made out of natural kraft our cylinders are recyclable, compostable and biodegradable.

  • Liners: the clear pouches inside our cylinders, are plant-based and made out of renewable wood pulp from managed plantations.

  • Post mailer: certified home compostable mailer bags made from bio-based materials.

  • Wrapping: FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified, biodegradable, compostable and can be recycled or reused.

Here is a guide on how to dispose of you Oolo products.

Oolo was founded by Renata and Larissa, two women who united their love for tea and business for good to create something ingenious: the world's first online community and marketplace for tea lovers.

Oolo was born out of love, restlessness, need for change and the unshakable belief that businesses can and must do better.

We believe in ethics, sustainability and quality. Our responsibility as a business lies with our people, our community and most importantly, our home planet.
